2 Corinthians

More than a Nutcase

Today, during a couple hours where our kids were well cared for, my wife and I stole some time together to share breakfast and talk about the stuff of life, love and our amazing God.  We had the rare opportunity to sit and talk under a beautiful canopy of oak, maple and shagbark hickory trees.  What a time we had!  The sun was high and the light played off the leaves in a beautiful visual symphony.  That didn't last long, though. The sitting, I mean.

The Shame of Fame in the Ecclesiological Frame

There's a strange catch-22 that exists in some folks.  Christians seem to simultaneously glorify and hate fame.  Some pray for Oprah because of her influence and the undeniable potential she has to impact many people if she loved Jesus.  Then there are others who will reject a Christian leader who does something well and gets famous for it.  Arggh.  What is the deal?  Is God opposed to fame?
