Say Again?

     "The jury has determined that you are guilty of all charges."
     "Sir, we could not find your child."
    
     Those have to be some of the very worst statements ever uttered.  Here's a worse one I read today: "I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God." 

Aside: Adjure

The phrase, "I adjure you by the living God," or "I adjure you by God, or whatever.  Mental note: never a good thing.  Unfortunately, the high priest put himself in a small cohort by uttering some derivative of this phrase to the Lord.  Here's some of the other people reportedly "adjured" someone in God's name:

-An Evil Spirit - Mark 5:7

-A Bunch of Mystic Exorcists (The Seven Sons of Sceva)  - Acts 19:13

Not a good club to join.

 

My Child is More Important Than...

Ice Cream with SprinklesPractice what you preach.  Right?  Well, I tell others that they should be intentional to train their children in the Scriptures, and not just use the fancy-dancy, children's Bible with its mere 20 stories.  I preach it, I should practice it too, right?  Well, I certainly believe that and today I was reminded of just how much we-parents need the Lord's help to do it well.
